Bighorn Sheep-"High Light"

Close ups

Oil on 5x7 archival canvas panel.

Gary Keimig is a great Wyoming artist. His world is filled with eyepopping scenery and wildlife subjects. He has offered up a photo as a fun challenge to fellow artists. Check it out here. I just could not resist doing this magnificent bighorn sheep!

I really like how this one turned out! It has the drama of light. Thanks for looking. :-P

  3. Thanks, Celeste.

It would be great if Gary ran a challenge on a more or less regular basis. On top of being a fine artist, he is a great photographer and is surrounded by top notch subject matter in Wyoming! But it must involve plenty of extra work.

  9. Really outstanding, Dean. That enormous, wonderfully painted horn is my fave part of the painting. I like the way you worked some subtle brown/greens into the mix. Works beautifully!
