Oil on 5x7 hardboard.
These are a couple of pears I bought with a painting in mind. I congratulate myself for remembering to photograph them before scoffing them down.
They remind me of two friends sharing a special moment.
The feeling/style for this piece is quite different from the Coyote previously posted. Not so much impasto texture. Here, I rely more upon painted texture and a smoother style.

I love how you included the little imperfection which help this look so much more realistic!
ReplyDeletesuper real...and they do look like friends :)
ReplyDeleteOf course, Dean...Now I have that song in my head..."Lean on me, when you're not strong...I'll help you carry on..." Not the biggest fan of fruit paintings normally, but I have to tell you that the symbolism of this (partly put forth by your titling of this piece) makes this one a standout to my mind. There is something protective and comforting in this. Maybe I am interpreting this differently than you intended, but it really touches me this morning. Bravo on a piece very well done indeed.
ReplyDeleteThis piece is warm and wonderful... and so is the title. Much more meaningful than "A Pair of Pears"
