Who...Me?-Boston Terrier

 Close ups

 Oil on 7x5 canvas panel.

This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Susan, in Florida, was the gracious host this week who provided a bunch of colorful photos!

Had to try her Boston Terrier named Henry! That innocent expression really needed to be painted.

This is oil on a 7x5 canvas panel. I first toned the support with red acrylic, then painted away with oils (thickly applied in selected spots). I debated about painting the background, but decided against it. The little guy looked perfectly at home against the original acrylic background.
Hope ya like it!

Pigment Of My Imagination-Brahman Bull

 Close ups

Acrylic on 5x7gesso board.

This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Ros in Australia was the gracious host this week who provided a bunch of colorful photos!

I just had to do the Brahman bull.
Last week Kate did a fine painting along the lines of the watercolor master, Judi Betts. She's been a favorite of mine for years, so I researched her methods. This is my poor attempt at her technique. Instead of watercolor this is acrylic on a 5x7 gesso board. I had it going pretty good then started to overwork it.

Ros also suggested that we use a media that different than our normal. Thanks for the challenge, Ros!

Got Milk?-Cow Portrait

This is a touch up of the cow. A talented friend at the WDE commented " I would define the bottom a bit. It's now a sandwich with bottom and upper part red and the interesting part in the middle. By letting the yellow (or black)partly enter the bottom part it makes it less symetrical. Just a thought"

I saw exactly what she meant (ah, the value of fresh eyes)! So I added more yellows in the bottom left...a bit more hide color down the right side....plus a hint of color down the front of her neck. I think it all helped to make the painting seem more complete.
Thanks for those suggestions, Connie!

My redo is on top...the original is immediately below.

I just couldn't resist painting this face! Enjoyed the lighting and inventing a background.
I tried to lay the paint on a bit extra thick.

The Florist-Pig

 Close ups

 Oil on 7x5 canvas panel.

This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Valri was the gracious host this week who provided a bunch of great photos.

I may be starting a trend for myself. This is my second pig in two weeks. They may be waiting for their buddy so they can go to market.
Painting the color "white" is always fun.

.C&C is welcome. Thanks for stopping in and commenting.
