The Good Life-Hawaii Landscape

 Close ups

Oil on 5x7 gessoed canvas panel.

This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Maureen was the gracious hostess who supplied all the great reference photos. Thanks, Maureen !

Thought I'm throw in a rare (for me) landscape. I wouldn't mind hanging out here! It would be great to wake up here each morning! :)

This is oil on a 5x7 canvas panel. It's about 95% painting knife....That helped my speed somewhat.

C&C welcome. Thanks for having a look and commenting!!

  4. it's always a joy to see what you do with those WDE photos...you bring such life to them! I think you should get a prize for that! It is a talent in and of itself to make a painting from a photo look so lively--you do it every time! Beautiful scene in lovely colors.

  6. I've been trying to use a knife more often to get paint on. It does help speed up the process for me, so I'm hoping to get more comfortable with it.

This is a lovely little painting: exciting color and energy here!
