Oil on 5x7 gessoed canvas panel.
This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Maureen was the gracious hostess who supplied all the great reference photos. Thanks, Maureen !
Thought I'm throw in a rare (for me) landscape. I wouldn't mind hanging out here! It would be great to wake up here each morning!
This is oil on a 5x7 canvas panel. It's about 95% painting knife....That helped my speed somewhat.
C&C welcome. Thanks for having a look and commenting!!

I've never been to Hawaii but I would love to wake up as well to this beautiful scenery. Nicely painted, Dean!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Hilda! Wouldn't the sights, smells and sounds be great??!! :)
DeleteDean, this is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Dean. I like your use of those secondary colors.
ReplyDeleteit's always a joy to see what you do with those WDE photos...you bring such life to them! I think you should get a prize for that! It is a talent in and of itself to make a painting from a photo look so lively--you do it every time! Beautiful scene in lovely colors.
ReplyDeleteHello Dean!... A lot said on such a smalll space!
ReplyDeleteGreat design and colour... which are always the hallmarks of your work! A gem!
Good Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
I've been trying to use a knife more often to get paint on. It does help speed up the process for me, so I'm hoping to get more comfortable with it.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely little painting: exciting color and energy here!
