Creation-Yosemite Landscape

Close ups

Oil on 5x7 hardboard.

This is my contribution to The Paint Your Muse Challenge at DPW posted by Robin Peterson.
Robin suggested: Consciously identify what inspires you about the subject. Write down in a single word what you plan to communicate in paint then make that the title of your painting.

This is a scene from Yosemite. His creation is all around us. From the smallest flower to the most gigantic mountains. All wondrously designed.
Then we try to create on our canvases what what is in front of our eyes. What a wondrous world!!

This painting was done with a painting knife. Not sure about the degree of success....but plenty of fun just the same!!

  3. It's beautiful Dean! I'd say you captured it well with the blade. The fun you had shows in the results...

  4. Love your scripture verse, Dean! This is beautiful and I don't see landscapes too often from you. All my doubts, wonders, and questions about God's existence were put to rest immediately upon the birth of my first daughter. I could see the miracles only God could create. Never a doubt since then.
