Oil on canvas panel.
Actually this is painted on a 3.5" x 2.5" section of an 8x10 canvas panel. Therefore it might be a little hard to sell...Lol.
This is my contribution to The Paint It Small Challenge at DPW posted by David Lloyd.
David suggested that we paint one in the ACEO size. The ACEO (2.5 x 3.5) market continues to blossom, and some galleries host yearly competitions and exclusive exhibitions dedicated to miniature works.
These would be a great size to keep your hand in painting daily when time is scarce.

wow, this is really cool.An oil in this size...you did great job! I saw all the other entries, too. Thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteBy filling this small format, you achieved something really special. It works as a semi-abstract, but it's also a lovely little floral miniature full of delicious color and texture.
ReplyDeleteLove your colors and technique, Dean. It is a great little piece.
ReplyDeleteuber sun drenched...too good!
ReplyDeleteI think this is beautiful Dean. I love the darker background, just muted enough to make this piece pop without the glare of too much brightness. I love it!
ReplyDeleteThis teeny tiny painting is just wonderful Dean.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Arti!
ReplyDeleteLS...Thanks for your very thoughtful words! It does resemble an abstract.
