Reflections On Life-Still Life

Close ups

Oil on 7x5 hardboard.

This is my submission to the DPW Challenge. Susan Abbott was in charge this week.

It went like this: Set up: One or two white objects on patterned fabric. Strong natural or artificial light from one side, if possible.
Use only primary and secondary colors for this painting (reds, yellows, blues, violets, oranges, greens. If working in oil and acrylic, use white). Don't use neutral pigments or earth colors from the tube, such as browns, black, grays.

1 John 4:7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

  1. This piece is great Deano.
I love the reflection on the cup.

  2. Très belle interprétation ... J'aime le rendu de la simplicité du sujet qui lui est plus complexe à peindre.
    Gros bisous

  3. Well done, Dean. I've seen these tablecloths repeatedly throughout my life so it is kind of fun seeing one in a painting!

Did I ever tell you my painting arrived? It is even more gorgeous in reality. Thank you so much, Dean!

  4. Great job on this one! THe reflection is captured so well!

  5. you did a great job....especially with the reflection...!

  6. Love the dramatic lighting, Dean.

  7. WoW!! Excellent piece, Dean. The reflection on the cup is perfectly painted.
