Momma Knows-Duck And Ducklings
Oil on 5x7 hardboard.
This is for WDE at Wet Canvas. Bonnie supplied a selection of photos from which to choose.
I picked momma mallard and ducklings. I'm always fascinated how parents in the natural world are so successful in raising their young. We humans seriously need to sit down and take notes.
The duck and her babes were pretty widely scattered in the photo. I had to gather the family together for their portrait.

It always amazes me how you get a big painting look to a compact canvas. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always, Dean! I love how you "gathered" these little ones to their mom's side. And I'm with you on the parenting.
ReplyDeleteNicely done, Dean...I like how you integrated the little ones with the overall scene...they "belong"
