The Gaggle
Oil on 5x7 gessoed hardboard.
This image is from WDE at Wet Canvas...it was supplied by Desiree.
I loved doing the geese. I tried to keep it painterly and lively in a creative way in the background.
Here is an ultra close up. It looks like a little fiery abstract waiting to happen. :)

Oh Deano... I LOVE this!!! You captured the geese with the lighting reminiscent of the Old Masters but your strokes are bold and modern.
ReplyDeleteI love how you include close ups. It helps rookies like me learn so much and in addition be an inspiration.
Oh, BTW I find it interesting you choose a different Avatar for the three sites I know you from. :o)
Hi Sheila! Thanks for your supportive comment on my painting.
ReplyDeleteI'm at a slight loss on the avatar...I can only think of two that use a photo. I've had the one at Wet Canvas forever...Artbistro is new, so I tried a different avatar.
*doh* I guess I was associating your wonderful watercolor collage from the DSFDF challenge as an image I relate with you for your blog. SORRY!
ReplyDeleteLol...no problem, Sheila!
ReplyDeleteI would like to maybe use that image sometime but it belongs to the artist.
Love the geese Dean!
ReplyDeleteWonderful painting, Dean - love the brushwork!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Edward! I want you to know that I truly appreciate your praise.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome, Dean, it's well deserved and thank you.
ReplyDeleteThe colors in this are striking! A very exciting painting!
ReplyDeleteHi, Kim...very glad to "see" you! Thanks for your valued comment.
ReplyDeleteDean, these geese look good enough to e..hang up on the wall. Beautiful job and very nice Victorian.
ReplyDeleteYou have fantastic brushwork!! Love this!
ReplyDeleteHi Vern...Thanks for stopping by and the nice comment.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Theresa...I have to constantly remind myself to place it and leave it alone in order to let the brushwork show. Thanks for noticing.
