Dashing Dachsie-Dachshund portrait

 Close ups


Approx. 5x7 on Cotman Watercolor Pad. Graphite, General's Sketch and Wash, and a touch of colored pencil. Just experimenting for a different look. I know I need to do more sketching...maybe this will break the ice.

    I just wrote on my blog that to me drawing is "just as wonderful" as painting...or some such thing. Yes....it is! This drawing is a great example of what I mean. It is exquisite!

    Amazing...this has all the impact of a full colored painting. What great drawing skills you have, Dean. I hope you do more. I get so much pleasure out of seeing accomplished work. Celeste has a wonderful drawing on her post, too.

    Dean your dog's pose is wonderful. You caught something special in just the way you have him looking up. Also the addition of the colored pencil to strengthen a few lines is so nice. Love this. Thanks for sharing.
