Different Destinations-Cityscape

Close ups

Oil on 7x5 canvas panel.

This is my contribution to The Street View Challenge at DPW posted by the one and only Carol Marine.

Carol snapped this photo on a recent trip to San Francisco. Our challenge was to paint our version of it or use our own photo.
I have always felt somewhat intimidated by cityscapes with all the straight lines and details. On the other hand, the photo opened a great deal of opportunity to crop, change, and interpret. And that's always a lot of fun! So thanks, once more, Carol for a great challenge!

  7. Good Morning Dean!... You surely have captured the very essence of the word "city"... a place where different lives are lead... in anonymity... seeking different destinations!

All of those sentiments jump out from this tiny painting!Well done... once again!

    Good Painting!
    Warmest regards,
