Little Red Rider's Hood-Truck

Close ups

Oil on 6x6 canvas panel.

This is my contribution to The Old Truck Challenge at DPW posted by the one and only Carol Marine.

Carol asked us to take the photo below and
crop, edit, or use your artistic license with it, but use this photo for this one. Have fun!

My usual tendency is to tighten up and paint everything realistically- straight edges and all- when doing subjects such as vehicles, architecture, etc. So I had to remind myself to loosen up with this one.
Thanks for a great challenge, Carol!
Hope ya like it! :)

  1. I finally found my dashboard! I am so sorry I've missed posting but I had a great time reviewing your gorgeous recent works. Love the burro, the portrait and the parrot and I adore how you've taken on the DPW challenge. Bravo Deano!

  2. Fantastic painting, Dean! love these old trucks :) Maybe it would want to race in my "1/4 Mile " painting??? Huh?? :)

  3. Had great fun going through all these works Dean! Lovely painterly paintings and love the truck.

  4. You did a gorgeous job here, Dean! Awesome truck! I so love all old vehicles and you sure gave this one its dignity and beauty.

  5. I recently stopped at an outdoor show of veteran cars and photographed a cute 1930's little Ford truck. It was bright green and I am working up courage to make a painting! Great inspiration here from your site!

  6. Bright, luminous red truck! Beautiful painting Dean!
    Warm regards.
