Mr Macaw-Parrot
Oil on 6X6 canvas panel.
This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Joel was the great host who supplied a lot of great reference photos!
The colorful macaw called out to be painted! And he's quite a talker!
In some spots I lay the paint on thick with a palette knife then manipulated with a brush.
C&C welcome. Thanks for looking!
In case I don't have time for a timely post, Happy Father's Day!!!!

Really, really, good. How did you managed the delicate lines around the eyes?
ReplyDeleteCharity - for sure! My mother raised us on this and she led by example.
Happy fathers Day, Dean.

ReplyDeleteHappy Father's Day, Dean...this is a fabulous macaw painting...how DO you get so much information on a 6x6!? Love it!
ReplyDeleteHi there Dean! You have captured the head-cocking stare that these colourful characters all seem to possess!
ReplyDeleteOften... their language can be as "colourful" as their plumage! HA HA!!
A great painting!
Good Painting!
