Spirit-Osprey
Oil on 6x6 canvas panel.
This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Li was the gracious hostess. Thanks for the great reference photos.
Li offered many beautiful reference photos. This one called out to me the loudest. The beautiful osprey! She found it on the ground with a broken leg and wing. With help, she managed to get it to a conservation group. I do hope it recovered to be flying again.
Not too much to say about this except I pushed color variety and used well loaded brush strokes. It was educational and enjoyable.

Your colours are gorgeous in this one, Dean. I love the cool lavender in his white throat contrasting with the warm highlights on his head. It really shows form and planes.
