Easter Pinup-Keeta The Cat
Oil on 5x7 hardboard.
This is my painting for the WDE at Wet Canvas. Shar was the gracious hostess this week who supplied the reference photos. This was done from a picture of her cat, Keeta.
Keeta was decked out in the Easter bonnet in the photo in an inside setting. I added the floral setting from another reference photo. I like how it all came together.
I managed to give it plenty of texture and color.
Hope you all like it!

bellissimo, complimenti
ReplyDeletethat looks like my cat! I could never get him in a hat though...haha.....I don't know how you manage to paint a "sentimental" painting and yet make it seem like a serious painting! Talent, I guess!
ReplyDeleteIt is always interesting to see the end result when you combine one or few more references and make a new your own.. never thought that a cat's face next to floral would make a good composition... really looking lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh now she is a delight, Dean! An Easter beauty indeed!
ReplyDeleteGreat portrait of Keeta. Lots of texture and great colors.
ReplyDeleteLovely colours and textures! You are so good with all animals - loved the Robert de Niro chicken!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter. Great eyes on your kitty.
ReplyDeleteYour cats and rabbits are so gentle, Dean. You did give this painting a lot of texture and colour!
ReplyDeleteA beauty Dean. Happy Easter to you.
