Oblivious-New York Lady

Close ups
Oil on 7x5 hardboard.

This is my contribution to this week's DPW Challenge. It wsa hosted by the fine artist, Linda Popple.
I really enjoy this weekly challenge. It forces me to paint an extra piece each week. Plus I enjoy jumping in to paint from an unfamiliar picture with a hurry-up deadline. Actually, the DPW Challenge doesn't impose a deadline...I self impose it to get it done within that week. It's like flying (or painting, Lol) by the seat of your pants.
It is great fun to see the various solutions these fine artists come up with!

  1. Love this one Dean. You must be the master of beautiful and interesting color schemes...great job!

  2. Dean, I love the colors! So warm feeling.

  3. I liked your version of her so much, challenges help you to grow, forcing you to perform out of your comfort zone. Yes, a self dead line is a must for discipline.

  4. Oh, Wow! This came out great!

  5. Dean...this is a very "real" painting. Makes one "feel" what she is feeling. You've done a great job on it.

  6. Beautiful Dean!! I like this one very much.

  7. Wonderful job on this challenge dean!

  8. Carol...Such high praise! Gosh, Thank you. Undeserved....but I'll take it! Lol

  9. Thanks, Maria...Good to see you again!

Padmaja...I agree completely with all you said.

    Thank you, Tim!

  10. Thanks, Sherry! :)

Lokelani...Thanks...I'm glad you think my painting accomplished that!

Thanks for the kind words, Hilda!

  11. You did a great job on this, you always do. You have to get busy with a self portrait now, that's the new one. lol
