Memorial Day - Seat Of Honor

Oil on 7x5 hardboard.

This is my submission to WDE at Wet Canvas. The reference photo was graciously submitted by Desiree.

The original photo showed a beautiful elderly couple sitting on a bench. There is something uplifting about seeing a couple like this. I compels me to consider all they have seen and been through.
I changed things by adding the uniform and flag to create a Memorial Day tribute to the military heroes. I hope the painting honors all who fought for the US and all the faithful partners who stuck with them throughout it all.

Despite all the ugly rumors, American pride is still alive and well. God bless all who are in the service of our great country...and all who ever were.

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

  2. Hey Dean!... WE sure are "on the same page" these days... subject-wise!

So much to be grateful for... to so few!

Remembrance... or Veteran's Day.... should be EVERY day in all of us who enjoy the freedom they preserved for us!

    Good Painting!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce
