Ben--Shih Tzu

Close ups

Acrylic on 8x10 hardboard.

Do you remember when I did the acrylic painting of my neighbor's dog, Max? That was in March of this year. Before that, I painted Jingles for him on Dec. 26 2008.
Well, Jack got a new acquisition a short time ago. It's a little heart stealing Shih Tzu named Ben. Personally I think he's a thinly disguised Gremlin. Sure hope Jack doesn't feed him after midnight.

Here's where to see Jingles and Max.

I'm very fortunate to have the world's best neighbor living just on the other side of my back fence.

  2. really is a nice painting Dean. My daughter had one of these little guys. He loved playing with an ice cube. Chased and sucked on it till it melted then begged for more.

  4. Look at that face!! Ben is gorgeous, Dean! You've done him quite proud. Methinks Jack is as nuts as we are (we have 4 dogs living in our house, though one goes when my daughter goes).

  6. Thank you , Dana. Never take a good neighbor for granted...because the other kind can make life miserable.

  7. Hi Gary. I asked Jack about that. And he says, yep, his loves to chase ice cubes around the floor. :)

  9. Thanks, Autumn...At present, Jack has only Max and Ben. Jingles has already crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Years ago we owned four toy poodles all at the same time.

  11. Dean, what a little cutie and you have painted him beautifully. These little guys are hard to paint because there's so much FLUFF that comes with them. You have tamed the fluff perfectly and yet, we still read how soft his fur is. We recently rescued a little shih-tzu/lhasa-apso rescue and are so enjoying this breed's personality, which is BIG.
