Oil on 7x5 archival canvas panel.
Wendy hosted WDE at Wet canvas this week. She graciously supplied this image..
Like many other artists I know, I seem to be on an unending quest to learn how to paint loosely. To suggest the subject and eliminate all but the most essential details. Unfortunately knowing what you want to do and doing it can be two very different things. Anywho, here's my attempt.

That is really good looking Lucey Goosey. Happy Easter Deano!
ReplyDeleteNobody paints birds quite like you Dean! Another great painting and I think it's lovely and loose.
ReplyDeleteYou're right Dean! This seems to be a universal quest! I don't know many artists who say "I want to learn to paint more tightly!"...In fact, that could have been you that said it! HA...Well done on the loose attempt! By the way...love your last piece as well!
ReplyDeleteAn artist is a big artist because he has unending quest! :) Cute and beautiful Goose! Well done Deano!:)
ReplyDeleteIt is always a pleasure to look at your animals! This one- I really like the soft red background! A warm and happy picture.
ReplyDeletevery charming---my brother used to say loose goose for some reason...it's just fun to say. haha. I like how this goose seems to be stretching.

ReplyDeleteLucey is a most fabulous goosey! I love that background treatment, Dean!
ReplyDeleteGreat, strong, whites.
ReplyDeleteThis is "T, double E, double R, double R, double I, double F, double I, double C-C-C..." (This quote is from the goose in the animated "Charlotte's Web" - which I had the opportunity to see about 100 times when my oldest son was a toddler.) I feel it describes your loosely painted goosey lucey quite well...
