Thailand Bay
Acrylic on 5x7 gessoed hardboard.
This is a scene from Railay Bay, southern Thailand Andaman sea, Krabi province.
The photo was supplied by Eye for the WDE at Wet Canvas.
A bit of a strange one from me. A landscape and acrylic to boot. But it was fun. As per usual, I eliminated unnecessary detail, pushed the color and toyed with selective, dramatic lighting.

ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteThe colors in the trees are wonderful. Great depth there! From a fellow acrylic painter I'd say you hit this one!
ReplyDeleteA very beautiful scene, Dean! It's very serene. Well done!
ReplyDeleteHi, Edward. Thanks for your kind comment. "Serene"...A word that really seems to fit, now that I look at it again.
ReplyDeleteDean, this is well thought out, and very pleasing to the eye. Good job!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lauren!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Saundra. I appreciate your words of encouragement. I need to simply spend more time at acrylics in order to get back into them again...they used to be my main medium.
ReplyDeleteBut the, I need to spend more time painting with oils...Lol!
Thank you, Deb! I appreciate you lending your artistic eye here! It truly does help!
ReplyDeleteYes, serene. That name seems to fit...and very skillful. And...it's sad that our hearing is so often dulled by the clamor o the world. P.S...got a surprise coming or ya in a few days.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping in, James.
ReplyDelete"A surprise"? Uh oh...now you've got me in suspenders! :)
Hello! Serene, and solidly painted. You've mastered the knack of capturing the important parts of a scene beautifully. Tricky to do in landscape painting.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Liz! I really appreciate your artistic opinion. You are putting up some great art on your new blog!
ReplyDeleteSumptuous!

ReplyDeleteThanks, James/aka Allen Funt...old friend! That was quite a surprise. Although I'm much more handsome in a George Clooney way IRL, you did a grand job!
