Terrific Trio
Oil on 5x7 gessoed hardboard.
This is my latest entry for Karin Jurick's DSFDF. The reference photo shows a shop window full of mannequin heads and wigs. I isolated it down to three ( there were a bunch in the photo...looked like a PTA meeting). Their colors were mismatched and spooky looking. Hmmm...come to think of it they kinda look like a trio of Super Powered Heroines! Looks like Giraffe Girl on the right...Invaluable to let the others know what is occurring in upper story windows...Strettttcccchhhh.

This is great Dean. Great idea to crop this image and do only a part of it! Great blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Edward...They just seem like super heroines to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sill..please stop back again.
ReplyDeleteHi, Maggie...There are simply too many mannequin heads for me to attempt them all on a 5x7...Lol.
ReplyDeleteLove your Super Powered Heroines! This was a fun one, wasn't it? Den, your seascape of La Jolla Cove is beautiful--I grew up in California and you nailed those colors!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cheryl. Yes, this dsfdf is great to stimulate the ol' imagination. I just had an idea for a great entry (IMHO), but alas, I have already sent mine in.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping in & commenting.
Wonderful work! The dramatic background helps them look like super heroines.
ReplyDeleteHi Akiko...thanks for stopping in and your supportive comment.
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with these, Dean. I'm working on the four wigs above yours. Between the two of us, we could patch together half the window.
ReplyDeleteDeano this is swell! You picked two of the wig wearers I decided to paint. Love your colors especially the blue highlights on the brunette.
ReplyDeleteCan't really figure out what it is but I really like this piece!
