 Close ups

Oil on 5x7 canvas panel.

This is my contribution to The Cloud Bather Challenge at DPW posted by that really fine artist, Carol Marine.
She stated that  the challenge is the foreshortened bodies (and the complete lack of sun).

I thought of a few titles that made me chuckle, but, thankfully, discretion won out. :)

This is by painting knife. I think I let a bit more sun in than I should have..but old habits are hard to break.

  1. YOur drawing skills are amazing, Dean. This is certainly a hard one. I am very impressed and you did a fabulous job.

  2. Dean, you know they say discretion is the better part of valor. Me being me, I'd probably would have gone the route of no discretion. LOL Much as I agree with Dana that this view is not one's best, I must say that it makes a wonderfully intriguing painting. You handled it well!

  3. Wow! Excellent painting, Dean!!! Love the texture!!

  4. Great work of the fore-shortening, Dean. And there can never be too much SUN!

  5. you did an amazing job of this...challenge indeed! Your shapes/foreshortening is perfect--bravo!
