The Unconditional Kind

Close ups

Oil on 5x7 canvas panel.

This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Susan was the great hostess. Thanks for the terrific reference photos.

Nothing says "unconditional love" like a child or a dog. These two earthly entities have to be very close to the love of angels.

This is something NEW for me and I really enjoy it....palette knife painting!!!
In the past, I have dabbled with a spot here and there with the painting knife...but this is the real McCoy! In a very few areas I used my finger or a brush to pull things together. I'm very happy with this style and all the color "happenings" it creates.
Thanks for looking!

    Une explosion de tendresse;
Et c'est explosion de tendresse que vous avez magnifiquement saisie on cher Dean dans cette peinture. J'aime la rondeur des joues qu'offre le visage de cette adorable enfant.
Une oeuvre précieuse. Un grand bravo!
    Gros bisous

  3. Dean, this is just beautiful! Lack of interest? I think not! I moved my whole blog back to blogspot due to commenting problems from Wordpress to blogspot. For whatever reason, I've had no comments at all either. Ah well. Its what I get for being flaky.

An explosion of tenderness; And c' is explosion of tenderness which you magnificiently seized one dear Dean in this painting. J' like the roundness of the cheeks qu' offer the face of this adorable child. An invaluable work. A great cheer! Large kisses"

Thank you, Martine! "explosion of tenderness" says it all! :)

  11. Wow! This is exceptional. The dog so cute. The sloppy wet kiss being enjoyed by both. Love the light on the little child's cheek. You outdid yourself this time.

  12. Good morning Dean!... What a wonderful treat was in store for me at "The Den" this morning!

"Unconditional Love"... "Straight from the Heart". These titles pretty much sum up the contents of your work... and your spirit.

A "good heart makes great art!"

Hope this comment gets into your box!
    Good Painting!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce
