Nearer To Thee- Landscape

Close ups

Oil on 5x7 hardboard.

This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. The hostess, Jean, provided the photos.

I was really tempted to try a great looking cat (jaguar, I think), but I was still seeing spots from last week's cheetah.

This is Mount Rundle in Alberta, Canada. Gorgeous scenes like this remind me of the constant presence of our Creator. The mountains seem to be in symbolic prayer to the Heavens.

Genesis 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day

  1. WOW! That is gorgeous Dean. I've picked a couple but haven't gotten to them yet.

  2. You captured the glory and power of creation beautifully here. I've always said that no one can match God's palette, but you sure got pretty close. :-)

  4. When I see scenes such as this I'm just amazed at how anyone could deny God. Super gorgeous, Dean, but then you already know I love your style of painting.

  9. A splendid landscape, Dean, and wonderful reflections in the water. We seem to have changed places this week with me doing animals and you doing landscape!

  11. La montagne est si belle, que la nature a placé un beau miroir afin qu'elle puisse se contempler... Et la réflexion est à son apothéose dans votre peinture...
    gros bisous.
