Floral Fragrance-French Window

Close ups

Oil on 5x7 hardboard.

This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. The hostess, Catherine, provided the photos.

I chose this scene because I viewed it as an opportunity to get really loose and do a lot of implied detail. It may look as though it were done very quickly...but not so. This one took as long to complete as many of my detailed paintings do...around 2 hrs. Kinda like an orchestrated fight! Lol!

Song of Solomon 2:12 "Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land."

  1. "orchestrated fight" ...haha...I know the feeling. You'd never know this was a "fight" make it look easy

  2. Fresh and lovely, Dean! I just love your work (as you know). By the way, Michael said he so glad I bought that last piece. He loves it as much as I do and it is just powerful! Thanks Dean!

  3. very the flow on this!

  4. Beautifully done Dean. It makes me want to travel there. Your colors are perfect and I love the looseness of it.

  5. Dans tous les cas c'est un ballet de couleurs délicates, fraîches qui dansent devant mes yeux...
    gros bisous

  6. The title says it all about your work here.. very fragrant
