Fallen Star-Water Lily

Close ups

Oil on 7x5 hardboard.

This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. The host, Robert, provided the photos.

Don't let the strange title throw ya. According to an Indian legend, the water lily was once a star. It fell from the sky on the water and changed into a flower. Come to think of it, it does resemble a star. For me, it certainly is the star attraction of a pond.

I really like the color combo of Thio Violet with the accompanying greens, blue, and touch of yellow.
