Calf Half Light

Oil on 5x7 archival canvas panel.
I went retro for this one. This is the style I used almost exclusivly in '04 & '05. A lot of fun and I like the result. A lot of mushy, colorful, paint....sometimes applied with a painting knife and either left as is or worked into with the brush. The idea is to have an exciting surface texture and exciting under- mixed paint. Hope ya like it!

If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek m y face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

  1. Another beautiful piece of art by Deano... love it. I also like the bible verse... oh that we would seek his face and turn from our wicked ways but we are such and instant gratification society.

  2. Hi Helen! Thanks for the kind words.
The instant gratification society is looking worse with every day...which makes the Lord's satisfaction of our needs all the more appealing...He will supply.

  6. Thanks, Angie. It's a fun way to paint. periodically, I try to press it more...give up the control that can stifle a painting...to let the paint "do it's thing".

  7. I love this Dean! You've done some pretty cool paintings from WDE - got to look in to that.

I love that you put Bible versus in your blog. Today we need His words in front of our face and in our hearts more than ever.
