Oil on 5x7 canvas panel.
This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Oty was the gracious hostess.
What can I say?...I can't pass up a chicken. I sometimes feel like the Colonel Sanders of the art world....I'm thinking my chicken paintings might sell a whole lot better with sides of mashed potatoes and biscuits!!
This painting was about 50/50 brushes and painting knife.
I attempted this (loosely) in the style of that great painter, Cheri Christensen. Thanks for the tip, Julie! I really like to hop around in cyberspace and try to emulate the styles that blow my socks off...hoping some will stick. Usually it doesn't and I just wind up painting like my ol' boring self, but with cold feet! Brrrr!
I really appreciate your comments!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Celeste! I liked your landscape today.
DeleteThey look awesome, Dean! I love the light giving them that early morning glow too.
ReplyDeleteLove what you've done with these chickens. I especially love your "proud" rooster.
ReplyDeleteStepping out for sure...and she is asking: 'Are there any feathers sticking out on my back?'
