Floral Fragrance-French Window

Close ups

Oil on 5x7 hardboard.

This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. The hostess, Catherine, provided the photos.

I chose this scene because I viewed it as an opportunity to get really loose and do a lot of implied detail. It may look as though it were done very quickly...but not so. This one took as long to complete as many of my detailed paintings do...around 2 hrs. Kinda like an orchestrated fight! Lol!

Song of Solomon 2:12 "Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land."

  1. "orchestrated fight" ...haha...I know the feeling. You'd never know this was a "fight" ...you make it look easy

  2. Fresh and lovely, Dean! I just love your work (as you know). By the way, Michael said he so glad I bought that last piece. He loves it as much as I do and it is just powerful! Thanks Dean!

  4. Beautifully done Dean. It makes me want to travel there. Your colors are perfect and I love the looseness of it.
