This is Dave, Lin's feline friend. The photo showed a royal, haughty, demeanor. Really posing for the camera. That's what I tried to capture in this painting. I first coated the support with black gesso. I really enjoy working with that stuff! Hope you like it!

ReplyDeleteI have not done any cats yet but have done a couple dogs, one just recently. I do have a photo of my cat and have thought about trying to do it.

ReplyDeleteWell, I used to be a dog person, but I converted to cats (since you asked...haha). I have to tell you, I think many artists miss the boat when painting cats. I don't know why, but cats seem to elude many painters..something goes wrong and they just don't quite get there...but YOU consistently paint a great cat. Deano, painter of cats. lol. (seriously...you are)
