Sunny Disposition-Dog
Oil on 7x5 hardboard.
Here's my submission to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. June supplied the reference photo.
After a little research, I think this is a golden retriever. The color is much like a light yellow lab but the longer coat says "golden retriever". Correct me if I'm wrong.
I got a bare start on it yesterday. Slept on it and finished with this today. This process really helps in solving problems and making decisions. My li'l ol' brain was at work all night...Think I'll take a nap soon.
Hope you all like it!

Malachi 2:17 You have wearied the LORD with your words. "How have we wearied him?" you ask. By saying, "All who do evil are good in the eyes of the LORD, and he is pleased with them" or "Where is the God of justice?"

charming dog!
ReplyDeleteMagnificant pose Dean and lighting, we used to have a golden retriever that would shut the door if you told it to, clever dog)
ReplyDeleteWhatever he or she is, he sure is a beauty Dean! Love that tail wagging pose too!
ReplyDeleteJust love your sunny-disposition dog, no matter what kind he/she is.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Dean.
ReplyDeleteThe face the tail, perfect job.
I hope that you had a nice sleep after the no sleep night.
Wonderful painting Dean! I think goldens typically have larger eyes and a longer nose, but that's not to say there's not a bit of golden in this dog. He's handsome either way!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Dean! The colors in the shadows of the undercoat are just beautiful! Love the attitude of this dog with his tail high in the air and looking straight at the viewer.
ReplyDeleteHey Dean, Nice job! I really like how you've captured movement with your strokes throughout the composition, but especially in the background. You've also captured the glow of the light through his fur perfectly.

With no computer, I missed 2 posts here Dean! Your Golden Retriever is absolutely gorgeous - love him! And I saw that SF streetcar, but I think it takes someone who knows them to do one justice. So well done to you on that as well. Great paintings.
ReplyDeleteHi Dean, Definitely looks to be a golden - they are wonderful devoted companions. Great job on him!
ReplyDeleteYou really captured a wonderful expression, Dean. Great warm and cool contrast.
