Reflecting On The Future
Oil on 5x7 hardboard.
Happy New Year, dear blogging buddies!! The title of this painting is in reference to the upcoming new year! I don't actually make resolutions but I do tend to reassess my goals and how to best achieve them. I do this only in general terms so that I can change directions without some sort of guilt hanging over me. Right now my art seems to fly off in too many directions...but then, I want to see where it all leads.
May your dreams come true in 2010!

Dean, you're a man after my own heart when it comes to resolutions and goals. I LOVE your pear. Beautifully done! Happy New Year... -Don
ReplyDeleteDean, I am sitting here looking at your brush strokes and am quite awed. I see them going through two colors and not muddying the painting at all. How do you do that? (The closeups allow me to see the brush lines quite nicely). The little mar on the pear looks 3-dimensional. What a great job you have done!
ReplyDeleteDean, both the painting and the sentiment behind it are on target--happy new year!

ReplyDeleteHi, Don- I think it's definitely a good idea to keep your eyes wide open for the muse...inspiration...opportunity.
ReplyDeleteAll my best to you and your beautiful family! Those were great portraits of your two boys and daughter!
Bless you, Autumn, for those glowing words! On this one, I used something I don't normally use...a very soft blending brush. So glad you liked it!
