Oil on 5x7 archival canvas panel.There was a time when I would painstakingly reproduce every detail & color in a photograph. I thought the artistic goal was to reproduce the photo image. I must say I got pretty adept at it too.
Then a light came on: merely use the photo to create a painting! Ah, what a glorious freedom!
