Pigment Of My Imagination-Brahman Bull

 Close ups

Acrylic on 5x7gesso board.

This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Ros in Australia was the gracious host this week who provided a bunch of colorful photos!

I just had to do the Brahman bull.
Last week Kate did a fine painting along the lines of the watercolor master, Judi Betts. She's been a favorite of mine for years, so I researched her methods. This is my poor attempt at her technique. Instead of watercolor this is acrylic on a 5x7 gesso board. I had it going pretty good then started to overwork it.

Ros also suggested that we use a media that different than our normal. Thanks for the challenge, Ros!

C&C welcome. Thanks for looking and commenting!

  1. Different medium, yes, but I could still tell it was a Deano painting. It is the way you handle color and light.
I really like this one. Good job on trying something new,

  2. It is a FINE piece, Dean. As always you've so gorgeously captured the light too.

  3. Job well done Dean. Your Brahma bull is very handsome. Looks somewhat like a watercolor piece.
