Acrylic on 7x5 canvas panel.
This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Donna did the the honors of hosting this week and provided a bunch of super photos!
I had to try this egret. They are such patient fishermen (as noted in the title).
This is acrylic on a 7x5 Gesso Art Board. It has a very slick non absorbent surface. I wanted to use some wet and wild techniques I had been mulling over. But much of my plans fell through. I like a few parts, though. All part of the learning process.
C&C welcome. Thank you for commenting!
Isaiah 40:3 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
I am really intrigued by the semi-abstract feel of this egret and the fish painting. It works for me - big time!
ReplyDeleteHi Lauren...Thanks! I liked the variety in your blog!
DeleteLove those colors! I like the abstraction you used for the background. Nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much, Kaethe! I'm glad you like it. I rustled it up at the last minute out of my imagination.
DeleteA slightly different style than I am used to seeing from you, Dean. Nevertheless, it is charming and I especially love the palette and foreground grasses!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sherry! I was trying something completely strange to me on this one...I'm just happy it looks like a bird...Lol!
DeleteThis is wonderful, Dean! The egret looks exactly like the one by my pond! They LOVE fish and he was eyeing my koi !!! I love the way you painted the background as well...
