Gold Rush-Goldfish

 Close ups

Oil on 5x7 canvas panel.
This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Christine was the host and provided a bunch of great photos!

I like the complementary elements of this goldfish photo! I couldn't discern some of those details of the fins, so I just painted my reaction to it. I learned a little with that approach.

C&C welcome. Thanks for looking and commenting!

  1. How wonderful, Dean. The depth and movement you created by linking up one paler and smaller behind the main guy is a joy to behold.Yes - this certainly is a WINNER!

  3. So beautiful, Dean! You've perfectly captured that sort of luminescence in the goldfish. Love the blue background too (da Bears!)...

    1. Hi Kathryn....Glad you don't feel the colors are too loud or strong. I think I have often been too timid and graying colors more than I should.

  6. Hi Dean,
I want to thank you for your kind comment on the rose. I am still "working and progressing".
As I sit here, the rain is pelting down, and it is dark. Oh, I miss summer so much, and it's only the end of September.
