The old musician struck a chord with me. Here he is still entertaining after all these years. He has seen music evolve in person. I too played music for years until old Father Time caught up with me and said, "Whoa"! I have an older brother who's still playing shows!

you played an instrument? Well...this is just great--wonderful expression
ReplyDeleteGood morning Dean!... You have laid down the relationship between the singer and the song in brilliant colour and have successfully portrayed that contemplative, wistful mood that you felt.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, your economy brushwork... great light and texture meld in a very small format to create a visual gem. Bravo Dean!
Good Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
I love knowing that older people still enjoy playing and singing, and can do it! This one speaks to me on many levels, Dean. It is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteA sharp portrait that hones in on great shapes and light.
ReplyDeleteFantastic painting, Dean! I love the wonderful colors and perfect light!! He has a great expression as well!
ReplyDeleteLaughing at Sherry's " older people." Who could that possibly be?
ReplyDeleteI really like the slight angle of the figure...the pattern on the sweater and lively brush marks. Must not forget that great hat either. A strong painting Dean.
