Oil on 5x7 canvas panel.
This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Christine was the host and provided a bunch of great photos!
I like the complementary elements of this goldfish photo! I couldn't discern some of those details of the fins, so I just painted my reaction to it. I learned a little with that approach.
C&C welcome. Thanks for looking and commenting!

How wonderful, Dean. The depth and movement you created by linking up one paler and smaller behind the main guy is a joy to behold.Yes - this certainly is a WINNER!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the very encouraging words, Julie!! I'm grateful the depth came across well.
Deletethose complimentary colors are gorgeous! Best fish painting ever!
ReplyDeleteHi, Celeste....the complementary colors are what first appealed to me on this one!
DeleteSo beautiful, Dean! You've perfectly captured that sort of luminescence in the goldfish. Love the blue background too (da Bears!)...
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry!!!....da Bears?? :)
DeleteLove your goldfish, Dean. The colors are so beautiful and rich, and the subtle background is perfect for the fish.
ReplyDeleteKathryn
Hi Kathryn....Glad you don't feel the colors are too loud or strong. I think I have often been too timid and graying colors more than I should.
DeleteI love the vibrant colors on these little guys, Dean. I can see them moving!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work
Thank you, Hilda! I loved your Indian painting!
DeleteHi Dean,
ReplyDeleteI want to thank you for your kind comment on the rose. I am still "working and progressing".
As I sit here, the rain is pelting down, and it is dark. Oh, I miss summer so much, and it's only the end of September.
Your fellow sun-lover, Kathryn
Hi Kathryn....Good times are right around the corner....about 8 months! Lol!
