Acrylic on 12x9 gessoed art board.
Remember the cutting horse painting I posted 6 days ago on Nov. 8th? Well, This painting is for that same lady. It's a tribute painting for her friend who, sadly, just lost this 4 year old mare.
I used basically the same mixed media technique as I did on her Nov. 8th piece. The only difference being that I first applied gesso and let it dry showing the brushstrokes. They wind up showing nicely in the finished painting. I also toned the board with a red acrylic which helps to harmonize/unify the painting. And, yep, I also used a black Faber-Castell Pitt artist pen.
Hope you like it...let me know what you think...pro or con.
