Sailors Take Warning-Skyscape

 Close ups

Oil on 5x7 canvas board.

This is my contribution to The Sky's the Challenge at DPW presented by  Jill Bates.
Jill suggested that we paint a skyscape. She said,  "be brave with color and have fun!"

This is from a red morning I saw last week...and sure enough, the weather got rough.
The colors are amazing in the morning and evening skies. God's palette is beyond matching.

Matthew 16:2       He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ 3    and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times
