Vietnam Market-Figurative

Close ups

Oil on 6x6 canvas panel.

This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Connie was the great hostess. Thanks for the wonderful reference photos.

For something a little different, I decided to try my hand at this market in Vietnam.
I aimed to use saturated color in this one. I used both a brush and palette knife. I wanted to use enough colors and ambiguous shapes to show the clamor and excitement of a market.
Thanks for looking!

Luke 11:33 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

  1. Ooohh! Terrific piece. The design is very strong. Love the placement of the whites.

  2. Beautiful painting, Dean ...full of nice strong colors!!!

  3. This is beautiful Dean. You really are a master painter to my mind!
