Close ups.
Oil on 5x7 hardboard.Bought some great looking cherries. Thought, "Need a nice easy, quick painting. Should be able to knock off a couple of cherries in no time and have something to post on the ol' blog." Of course, I knew down deep this was not to be so. Seems that everyone in blogville has had the same thought at one time or another...but they soon come nose to nose with reality! Cherries are not really that simple within a painting.
I wound up having to create interest in the form of color, lighting, etc. In other words, this whole thing is totally invented in order to produce a painting. The original still life lacked life. I feel satisfied with it...but a little later, who knows?

Well they certainly look like the real thing Dean. All scrunchy and juicy and edible. Yum!
