Growing And Going UP-Giraffe + Memorial Day 2014

 Close ups

 Oil on 5x7 canvas panel.

This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Lin was the super host this week who provided a bunch of great photos!

I really liked the rim light on this young giraffe. Once again, I tried to take the colorist approach. Still feel I have quite a ways to go to get comfortable in this style. But I enjoyed it!

C&C welcome. Thanks for looking and commenting!

This image is a painting I posted on Memorial Day 2009.

Please take some time today to quietly thank God for the multitude of servicemen and women who gave their all for this nation we are so blessed to be living in.

When you are out and about and you see the military , don't be embarrassed to thank them personally for all they do.

Remember always to praise and pray. Praise our finest young citizens in the service...And pray for peace.

Psalm 16:8 I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

This is my offering to the WDE this week. Mike graciously provided the photo.
First giraffe I've done in many, many, years. I enjoyed it. I had fun trying to come up with the right 'whites' in the shadows.
