Oil on 7x5 canvas panel.
This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Kathy was the gracious host this week who provided a bunch of great photos.
This is Wylan. Kathy said the rescue she got him from in Canada said he was a day away from being put to sleep in a high kill shelter. Wylan looks so thankful to have been saved. I have been owned by several beagles in years past, so I know this expression pretty well.
C&C welcome. Thanks for looking and commenting!
1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation He will also provide a way of escape so that you are able to bear it."
Oh - those eyes. This is an emotional wonder of a painting. Love Kathy for rescuing him,

ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous, Dean!!! I hope you do more dog portraits..Wylan is painted beautifully...
ReplyDeleteGood morning Dean!... You have a certain" "nose" for animal subjects. Your paintings never fail to reveal personality and character... which is the very essence and goal of all portrait painting... whether the subject stands on two... or four legs!
ReplyDeleteAnother winner!
Good Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
