On this venture of mine I plan to do a number of things. To post paintings which are for sale...to post a daily painting...and show some works in progress( demos). The art will be in Oils with an Acrylic sneaking in now and then.
Approx. 5x7 graphite on Canson 100 lb. Bristol paper. Slight use of colored pencil for variety.
This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Li was the gracious host this week who provided a bunch of colorful photos!
I really wanted to do a painting of these goslings, But since I was running short of time went a quicker route...graphite.
C&C welcome. Thanks for looking and commenting.
Matthew 5:14a, 16 "You are the light of the world ... In the same way, let your light
shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your
Father in heaven."
This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. EP was the gracious host this week who provided a bunch of colorful photos!
Ravens are super smart birds and are truly impressive looking! In my younger days, I had a pet crow named Crawford. Crows and ravens are very similar.
I really wanted to paint this over a ground of black gesso. It really
worked out well on some ravens I painted a few years ago. But today I
didn't have time to apply gesso and have it dry completely. So I did it
against a ground of thinned red acrylic....just didn't have the same
feel.

Luke 12:24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap;
which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much
more are ye better than the fowls?
This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Jess, in Florida, was the gracious host this week who provided a bunch of colorful photos!
This Jess's boy having fun at the beach. I tried to go with the "less is more" theory and staying loose. This one just seemed to flow right along. Hope you like it.

Psalm 56: 3-4 "But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. I praise God for
what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What
can mere mortals do to me?"
This painting is a repost from 2009. Still appropriate for today.
The principle of our republic is based on God given rights! Understand, that if America loses God...we lose those rights.
I have always held patriotism for the United States of America
strongly in my heart-but now, more and more, am afraid
for my country because it feels like hope is being dashed by all these
huge rapid fire changes." This is only my honest opinion, so if I rile
anyone , I apologize.
I am also of the opinion that there is a much higher power than Washington,DC. He is watching over us all.
And through Him, we will pull through fine.
I am proud of the the USA. Look at any country (or person) closely enough and you will see faults. But there's an overwhelming amount to be proud of...not ashamed of. Happy birthday America!!!! Know that you are still loved!
God bless the USA!
2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
I enjoy painting all subjects. To cause a viewer to pause and see the beauty in even a mundane object. But I must admit my special interest is animals of all sorts.
While I did attend the Columbus College of Art And Design for one year, I am largely self taught. My main contemporary influences are Richard Schmid and Scott Burdick.
Hope you enjoy my art, and please feel free to comment, or email me ...I'd love to hear your questions or thoughts!
