Got My Eye On Ya-Toby-Dog Portrait

 Close ups

Golden Open Acrylics on a 5x7 canvas panel.

This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. June was the gracious hostess.

I'm not at all used to these open acrylics...they fall between regular fast drying acrylics (which I'm used to) and oils (which I really like) in how they handle for me. Once I got familiar with them, they would be a joy to use.

C&C welcome. Thanks for looking and commenting.

    1. Thanks, Kathryn...The eye is a little more devilish than the reference photo...but it reminded me so much of a beautiful dog I had a few years ago, I left it.

  3. Good Morning Dean!... You've caught that subtle eye check in... which dogs use to stay connected... but remain "doin their own thing." Know the moment well!

Great colour and texture as usual... and a nice use of that cropped head composition! Another gem!

    Good Painting!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce

  4. Oh I have seen this look in my own dogs before, Dean. It is a well done painting and I have a feeling this little guy would jump right up if you even began to speak to him.

    1. Looks as if he'd jump up ready to go if you just looked at him, much less speak to him! Good to "see" you, Sherry!
