Tiger Woods-Portrait

Close ups

Oil on 5x7 hardboard.

This ref photo is from the first day at the Firestone PGA tournament played in Akron, OH.
It was a rough ride for this golfing icon. His worst showing ever at his fav spot.

I'm fairly happy with how this one came out. I have been stalking the internet artists and picking up bits of knowledge here and there. I try to file them in the "toolbox" in my mind. Hopefully I can call upon them as needed.

  1. Really nice job! i love the warm colors. The scripture is kinda ironic considering the subject of the painting (maybe that was intentional?) Too bad Tiger didn't read and take that scripture to heart a while back :-(

  2. You gave me a chuckle with your "stalking" comment. Glad I am not the only one who does this :)
    I surely enjoy your painting.

  4. Sunny...Thanks for stopping by. Sometimes think I should spend more time painting and less time stalking. Lol.

  5. A nice pose with the emphasis on the well-developed arm of the golfer, Dean!

  6. That background is just so rich and almost melodic for me. Love the angle (point-of-view) you chose too, Dean. His expression is spot on Tiger face!

  7. I'm always so surprised that you can get so much information onto such a small support. Great job, I can hear the thwack of the ball --he's driven the green..oh no, he's in the rough. lol. Love how many different subjects you go after.
