Nearer My God To Thee
Oil on 5x7 archival canvas panel.
I really related to this scene. The best time of my whole day is when I go outside to my backyard at daybreak and thank the Lord for another beautiful day. Whether it's fair weather, rainy, snowy, or otherwise foul weather, it's still a beautiful day of His creation. A gift to the world.
You may recognize this lady/subject as the same one from the previous post. Well that's because it is. My trusty DVR allowed me to borrow her (Diane Keaton) from the 1981 movie, "Reds".

ReplyDeleteBeautiful Dean, I love the lights and theme in general.
ReplyDeleteIs this part two to a series? It goes so nice with the last painting.
ReplyDeleteThat purple really sets the emotion.
Both paintings are very beautiful and peaceful. I really enjoy your composition and complimentary color scheme.
ReplyDeleteYour colors are always fantastic Dean! I love the bright yellow next to the focal point...just perfect!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteI remember that "Reds" put me to sleep (it was very well received by everyone else)--but this painting is certainly uplifting..because of the colors and the positive emotions it evokes. Great work.
ReplyDeleteI love these last two of a possible series, maybe? Your work just keep improving.
ReplyDeleteVery poignant. Great job.
ReplyDeleteVery Nice Dean and life certainly is a wonder and wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful painting! I am so glad I stumbled onto your blog from the WC today.
ReplyDeleteWhat I really love about paintings are the stokes. It is so amazing how they apply those strokes to make it look so good. Just like this painting. It is getting better as you look closer.
ReplyDeleteYour color sense is so exceptional, Dean. This is absolutely lovely, and I share your celebration of each day with Thanks.
ReplyDeleteA very wonderful piece, my friend. So was the previous one.
