Azaleas

Close ups

Oil on 5x7 gessoed hardboard.
These are some of my azaleas from the front yard. Each year I look forward to their blooming. They have absolutely beautiful color, but alas, they only hang around in all their glory for about a week. Then they are but a memory until next year. The anticipation is more than the realization. Note the scripture below.

  1. So beautiful, Dean. I really like your cool pinks against the warm pinks, and the "whiteish yellow green" is just the right pop for the dark foliage!

  3. Beautiful, Deano! I knew immediately that these were Azaleas...not the easiest flower to paint. Love the cool purple shadows and the warmer pink petals. And that splash of light green/yellow is so beautiful against the dark. I'm in awe.
