Acrylic Rose
Acrylic on 5x7 archival canvas panel.
Still searching the different avenues of expressing an image in paint. This is my attempt at impact. It's a rose from my backyard. The surrounding dark makes the flower leap out and causes the background to dissolve into leaf like shapes. This invites the viewer to hang around for closer inspection....hopefully.

Dean, This is just lovely. Just perfect. I've never tried to paint a rose, I'll get brave one day and give it a try. Thank you for your nice comment on my blog. Barb
ReplyDeleteHey, Dean! I like this one a lot! It moves, for me, and those background shapes do indeed make leaves, and echo the rhythm of the rose petals. It's a nice, lively, inviting wake-up song in my day. Yum! P.S. I have painted a rose or two over the years; find them difficult, and completely admire and love yours.
ReplyDeleteHi, Barb. Thanks for stopping in. Glad you liked the rose.
